Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ifeyinwa collects, uses, stores and protects personal information across the Academy, the Agency directory and the video Showcase, including donations made through the platform.
Effective from [effective date to be confirmed by Ifeyinwa].
Draft for review
This text is a draft prepared for Ifeyinwa's review and has not been checked by a lawyer. It is not legal advice and should not be published or relied on until Ifeyinwa confirms the wording and every bracketed placeholder below has been filled in.
Who we are
Ifeyinwa is an AI-video training academy, creator agency directory and video showcase operated by [Ifeyinwa legal entity name], with a registered address at [Ifeyinwa registered business address] ("Ifeyinwa", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy applies to the Ifeyinwa website, student dashboard, admin back office and any related email or WhatsApp communications.
If you have a question about this policy or about your personal information, contact us at [privacy contact email address].
Information we collect
We collect information directly from you at the point you register, enrol, book a session, apply as a hirer, or otherwise use the platform. This includes:
- Account details: full name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and a password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
- Intake and enrolment details: age bracket (used to assign kids into the Star Kids House and adults into Gold or Green House), experience level, device availability, learning goal, and the package or cohort you select.
- Payment and enrolment records: the package purchased, amount paid, payment status, and any coupon or referral code used.
- Learning activity: lesson progress, assignment submissions, scores, House Captain feedback, and certificate status.
- Agency and hire request details, if you use that part of the platform (see the section below).
- Donation details, if you make a donation (see the section below).
- Communications you send us, for example a support message or a hire brief.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as health or biometric data) through registration or intake, and we ask that you not include such information in free-text fields unless it is necessary and you choose to share it.
Payments and Paystack
All card, bank transfer, USSD and mobile wallet payments on Ifeyinwa are processed by Paystack, a licensed payment services provider. When you pay by card, your card number, expiry date and CVV are entered directly into Paystack's secure payment page and are handled under Paystack's own security standards and privacy policy. Ifeyinwa does not receive, see, or store your full card number, CVV or card PIN at any point.
What Ifeyinwa does store is the transaction reference, amount, currency, status and timestamp returned by Paystack, and the package, cohort or donation the payment relates to. This record is used to confirm your enrolment, generate a receipt, and reconcile our accounts.
If you pay by manual bank transfer, we ask you to upload proof of payment (for example a screenshot or PDF of the transfer receipt). That file is stored securely and is only used by our team to verify the transfer and unlock your access, and for our accounting records.
Learning and assignment data
Once you are enrolled, we keep a record of your progress through the curriculum: which lessons you have completed, your assignment submissions (uploaded files or links you provide), the scores and written feedback your House Captain gives you, your standing on the house leaderboard, and whether a certificate has been issued to you.
This information is visible to you, to Ifeyinwa admin staff who need it to run the Academy, and to the House Captain assigned to review your work. It is not shared publicly unless you separately choose to have your work featured in the Showcase or your profile promoted to the Agency, as described below.
Agency and hire request data
If you are promoted to Featured Creator, the profile information you provide (name, photo, headline, bio, skills, portfolio, and the cohort or batch you completed) is displayed publicly on the Agency directory so that businesses can find and hire you. You can ask us to update or remove specific profile details at any time.
If you are a hirer submitting a hire request, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given), the project brief, budget range, deadline and any reference links you provide. Hire requests are shared with Ifeyinwa admin and with the specific creator the request is routed to, so they can respond to you. Hirers are not required to create a full account; a hire request only needs your contact details.
Donation data
If you make a donation through the platform, we collect your name (or note that you wish to remain anonymous), email address, donation amount, any message you leave, and the payment reference from Paystack. This is used to issue a receipt, to thank you, and to keep an accurate donations ledger. We do not sell or share donor information for marketing purposes outside Ifeyinwa.
Email and WhatsApp communications
We use your email address, and where you have provided one, your WhatsApp number, to send communications related to your use of the platform, including:
- Registration and payment confirmations
- Cohort start reminders and drip-release lesson unlock notices
- Assignment review outcomes and House Captain feedback
- Certificate issuance
- New hire request notices, to admin and to the relevant creator
- Abandoned checkout reminders
- Important announcements about your cohort or the platform
Email is sent through [email service provider to be confirmed]. WhatsApp messages, where enabled, are sent through [WhatsApp messaging provider to be confirmed]. These providers process your contact details only to deliver our messages on our behalf and are not permitted to use them for their own purposes. Where a message is not required to operate your account (for example a general promotional message), you may opt out by replying to that message or contacting us at [privacy contact email address].
Video hosting
Lesson videos are hosted by a third-party video platform ([video hosting provider to be confirmed]) rather than on our own servers. Playback is restricted to signed, domain-locked links so that lesson videos cannot be freely shared or downloaded outside the platform. Showcase videos are embedded directly from YouTube and TikTok and remain subject to those platforms' own privacy policies and terms when you play them.
How long we keep your information
We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active, plus a further [retention period to be confirmed] afterwards, so that you can be re-admitted, request a certificate, or raise a query about past enrolment. Payment records are kept for as long as required under applicable Nigerian accounting and tax rules. You can ask us to delete your account sooner, subject to the legal and accounting retention obligations described in this section.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access to student and payment records limited to authorised admin staff and, where relevant, your assigned House Captain. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, but where we become aware of a data breach likely to affect your rights, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority as required by law.
Your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act
Ifeyinwa processes personal information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). Subject to the exceptions and conditions the NDPA provides, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal and accounting retention obligations
- Object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing of your information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your information has been mishandled
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [privacy contact email address]. We will respond within the timeframe required by the NDPA.
Children and the Star Kids House
The Star Kids House package is designed for children learning under adult supervision. A child's enrolment is made and paid for by a parent or guardian, who provides the account and contact details (name, email address and WhatsApp number) used for registration, payment, and all communication about the child's progress. We do not require the child to hold their own account, email address or payment method.
We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is reasonably needed to deliver the course, track progress, and issue a certificate. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold more information about your child than necessary, contact us at [privacy contact email address] and we will review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the platform changes. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Where a change is material, we will also tell you by email or WhatsApp before it takes effect.
Contact us
If you have any question, concern or request about this Privacy Policy or how your personal information is handled, contact us at [privacy contact email address] or [Ifeyinwa contact email address], or write to us at [Ifeyinwa registered business address].
